I've always been fascinated by black holes, being briefly obsessed with astrophysics and Stephen Hawking (of which I never understood a thing beyond the equation for calculating an event horizon, something I had to memorize for a second year university module).
This here is a real black hole, people, from the galaxy NGC 1097. Of course you can't see a black hole, duh, but what is does is freaking amazing. I didnt even know we have our very own black hole right in our own backyard the Milky Way.
